Postby roy142857

I noticed this on the IBSF website -

The IBSF World Billiards Championships will be played at The Ivy Rooms Snooker Club, Carlow, Dublin from 23rd August to 1st September. There is seating for 200 spectators.

Each country may enter 3 players in each of the two championships.

First Championship held will be 150 Up, second Championship will be Traditional (i.e. timed).

(Double) Congratulations to Mike Russell

Only just remembered to check these results, as they happened whilst I didn't have Internet access - quoting from IBSF website:

'On the last day of 2011 IBSF World Billiards (Point Format) Championship, Mike Russell once again proved his supremacy in Billiards by defending his Point format title successfully. In the final he defeated Pankaj Advani 6-3. Pankaj was his opponent in Point format last year also.'

'Mike Russell (England) today lifted his 16th World Billiards title. Playing in the final of ‘timed event’ of 2011 IBSF World Billiards championship here in Carlow he thrashed Matthew Bolton of Australia with a winning margin of 2482 points'
