We are working on final checks. The draw will be on the website by close of play today but hopefully within the next 2 hours.

Re: PTC Draws and Formats

what about the qualifiers draw?

I see Liang Wenbo has drawn Michael White. He'd better be on his game.

Re: PTC Draws and Formats

Ben has 3 matches before he reaches the last 128 such is the volume of players competing.

Re: PTC Draws and Formats

Postby Roland

Ben could play the snookerbacker protege Allan Taylor and the winner to face Martin Gould

Yeh this is why its going to be hard actually for amateurs to do much better in the PTC than the tour guys who finish out of the top 64 at the end of the season.

The pros are always in the last 128 so only have to win 1 match to at least pick up £200 on the order of merit towards their total whereas the amateurs have to win 3 or 4 matches before they eanr any money, so you could have an amateur consistently making it thru qualifying to the last 128 but not getting any benefit.

After PTC4 when the rankings are based on seedings, this will help any amateurs who are high up the Order of Merit at least though.

One strange thing is Eden Sherez who reached the last 16 on PTC1 wont be playing in the PTC again until PTC5, hes missing a trick there as his good work here will have been undone. Hes currently in pole position along with Robbie Williams to get on tour via the PTC, albeit theres a long way to go.

Re: PTC Draws and Formats

Postby Wildey

in PTC 1 Robbie Williams only had one Qualifier to win in PTC 4 he has 2 matches to win and one will be against Probably Patrick Einsle or David Gray with Matthew Couch awaiting the Winner.

Got another ridiculous situation where just ONE amateur doesn't have to play ANY pre-qualifiers, whereas about 30 have to play THREE!

Luck of the Draw i guess

God Knows how they work it out though.

only 3 Pros missing from this event
Stephen Maguire
Jamie Burnett
Andy Hicks.

no amateur should get into the last 128 proper when others have 2/3 rounds of qualifying.

last week what was it 206 players and 93 pros so there was 35 places up for grabs.

its hardly rocket science anyway

206-93 = 113 amateurs
----------------------------

round 1

43 games = 86 amateurs
the other 27 get byes into the round 2 qualifying

round 2

43 round 1 winners
27 who got byes

=70 players = 35 games = 35 amateurs into last 128

yes someone especially last week needed some maths lessons

work out PTC 4 with 95 pros and 149 amateurs i bet you get it differently.

ok theres 33 places for amateurs up for grabs

round 1

34 players = 17 games
the other 115 amateurs get a bye

round 2

17 round 1 winners
115 byes

=132 players = 66 games = 66 winners

round 3

66 players = 33 games = 33 thru to last 128

simples

Re: PTC Draws and Formats

That looks pretty easy so why is one Amataur in the last 128 ??

and that one player is Bash Maqsood who is English...
