I'm pleased Selby has beaten Bingham and King, two players who have caused him problems recently.
He's not playing well enough to win though unless he seriously ups his game.

Top players always up their games when it matters at the business end of tournaments and like you say, it's beating the likes of Bingham and King early in tournaments that has been a problem for him over the years, it's when he plays the top guys that he redlines his game and I can see him doing so this weekend to take a 2nd ranking title

Selt might put a stop to that happening though
(he might turn back Robbos watch a few hours so Robbo doesnt leave their hotel lovenest
in time for his 10am start)

second that if they keep the standard they have shown until now.
I can see Williams win this.

Rare but not impossible.
ROS won the 2008 WC, then the 2008 NIT and was finalist in the 2008 Shanghai Masters, nearly making it 3
Selby won the Welsh on the back of his Masters title in 2008 (not a ranker but still a major)
Higgins won the UK after winning in PTC5 and being finalist in PTC6

Well Williams has the easiest road to the semis of all the top players.
And he's awfully dangerous at the latter stages of tournaments.

I guess we'll have to wait for quite some time until we have a World Number 1 who isn't Davis, Hendry, Williams, Ronnie or Higgins.
And yes I'm not counting that fluked world number 1 by Robertson.

with Higgins having 14,000 points deducted by the next cut off after the WC Williams looks well set to be end of season World no 1.
