The South West Snooker Academy in Gloucester is offering a six-month scholarship to the winner of their qualifying event for the World Open.
The event will take place on July 30, with the deadline for entries set at 12pm on that day. The entry fee is £20.

The winner of the event will have their entry fee for the World Open paid, plus six months of training, including use of the practice facilities, games against professional players and free coaching. The runner-up will receive a three-month scholarship and the losing semi-finalists will get a free day of practice, with coaching.

The qualifying event will be a best of five frames, straight knock out tournament in keeping with the format of the World Open. The matches will be played on Star tables fitted by World Snooker table fitters.

All entrants will be able to use the practice tables before their matches and stay for additional practice, as and when tables are available, after they have been eliminated from the competition.

Entry forms must be send to the South West Snooker Academy. For more details please contact Sarah Mount at sarah.mount@onqpromotions.co.uk

The 20 winners from the qualifiers will go through to the professional qualifying rounds in Sheffield in August, when they will have the chance to get through to the televised stages in Glasgow in September.

The World Open is snooker’s equivalent of the FA Cup – giving club players the chance to battle through and play the best in the world!

This is the place where the Pink Ribbon pro-am took place and it's really good!
@Sickpotter I wasn't sure to put this here or under the World Open discussion. Feel free to move it if misplaced.
