I get why Luca Brecel gets accused of being a basher, but that's at least six or seven years out of date for Trump. He's still a very attacking player but he knows his way around the table.

Unparalleled hype surrounding Brecel on the back of one great session. I suspect he will be forcibly dragged back down to earth today by Trump.

Si always strikes me as quite different to the other Chinese flagged players.
If I saw him out of the context of knowing who he is, my first guess would be he was a Thai player, both in looks and style of play and the way he carries himself generally.

I have seen Luca play great safeties. He just never feels like playing safe.

I have too, but let's be honest, his shot selection is nowhere near as good as Trump's.

I would agree with that, and it is often frustrating to support him, but Luca proved us all wrong when he beat Selby in a world final so I just accepted he plays the game in a different way.

The RonSi match is not great. Both seem nervous.

Thing is, the way he played in that final has proven to be the smart way to play against Selby.

That first frame was massive. I think it told us a lot about where Si Jiahui's game is at right now. O'Sullivan will win that one without breaking sweat.

Ronnie scrapped to get the first frame but he’s still bound to lose.
