Technically he’s been unlucky twice. Both were shots that relied on a bit of luck, both were played nicely, and on another day he lands on a choice of reds.

Probably because it was tacky as buck and pretty small-time.

Is Professor Alice Roberts On The Skag a term describing something that can happen in snooker?
Is it what Luca just did, when the red was on the floor?

That's not true at all if you think they don't care. If the ref hadn't replaced it properly, I can garantee you they woud let the ref know.

Hmmm, dunno. It’s verging close to ‘Czech neck’ and ‘Joss Ackland’s spunky backpack’ territory

Can someone explain to me what Phil Yates meant by "The only way Day gets a 8 point snooker is with the red on the table"? Is he not wrong? I assume he doesn't mean a single 8 point snooker because 7 is the most penalty points.

What if you potted a red and then nominate the blue?

Luca doesn't think when he gets down on a shot. Sometimes his instincts fail him.

Probably a foul and then a free ball, which would give the player a maximum of 8 points extra with the free ball.

That would be worth up to 12 points though, four for the foul, an extra free ball worth one then say the black

Right, I didn't think of free ball.

You do your thinking before you’re down on the shot. Once you’re down it should be automatic. Thinking while down on the shot is a quick way to mess up your game.

He’s still wrong because it would be at least a 12 point snooker. Foul 4+ and then the freeball with black.

I meant the free ball only gives a maximum 8 points, and then it depends the value of the foul commited.

Luca will never be a Judd with 30 Ranking titles etc But he could easily become World Champion again you only need to hit form for 17 days
He defines what a maverick is.

Imagine Luca being multiple world champion before the likes of Judd lol
it's a distinct possibility as you say

I know what you meant. Everyone is assuming the black is taken as the colour after the free ball.
