Well, that's it.
There is an air of clickbait about this.
The headline was; "Ronnie might win two World Titles this season." And the story was that there's been a rule change to allow over 50s into the Seniors regardless of rank. Will any of them even enter?
And even if they did, they probably just their way of getting more viewers. I mean, I can't think of any other reason to let top-16 players laying the smack down on 70 year olds.

Yeah, something like that.
Wasn't that why the rule was changed?

I mean, in theory.
I think they were working under the assumption that if Ronnie entered both, he was more likely to win them.

don't link to the sun. but yes per the wss facebook page, they have ended their current agreement with wst; and so any player over 45 will be able to enter the seniors events provided it is not on the same day and a world tour sanctioned event.

Just a way of getting publicity/money grab, isn't it?
Adding players in the top-16 adds anything to the quality of the event.
Not that it was a brilliant event anyway.

Money will prevent the top players entering anyway. Not enough for them to get out of bed for.

Ronnie and Willo will
Willo said on Twitter and Jason Francis is Ronnies manager plus a bit more relaxed than facing Judd and Co ideal for Ronnie in his old age extra cash for school fees as well ready for the grandkids.

Honestly, if this makes the presentation less amateurish I’m not against it.
I don’t think the Seniors exactly does wonders for snooker’s perception.

I wonder how many people watache it anyway.
For years it was on that FreeSports, and then moved to the BBC, but it was tucked away on the Red Button / I-Player. Doesn't bring a lot of attention to itself.
I know it moved to Channel 5 last year. Maybe these 900 tournaments they put on sometimes will get it some kind of publicity.

Who cares about what people think about Past it players it just goes to show how difficult the sport is even for former top players.
The Main tour is the Main thing the clue is in the Fact its the Main Tour.

I think it’s better for the sport in general that a Seniors tour is presented as a legitimate addendum to the main tour, not a glorified knockabout.
It clearly seems to be gaining traction, and whether you or I like it or not, it’s going to have an influence on how casual onlookers view the sport in general. I’d prefer that influence to be as positive and professional as possible.
