I'd be gutted if I won a trophy, and didn't get any confetti.

Plenty predicted this.
I thought it could be close this time given how well Hawkins played the rounds before and he was able to sustain his level. But he collapsed again. Big-time.
Yeah its a shame as he was by far the player of the week.
Him and Lisowski have major final winning mental blocks at the moment

Robbo has been “player of the week” for the first week of most of last 12 world championships

I agree. But I suppose with Lisowski he was a little bit unlucky to play Trump,Selby and Robertson in all of his finals. Not the easiest task to get your first title.
I'd like to see him play in a final against someone like Wilson or Hawkins.

New film by the guy behind Get Out and Us. Stars Daniel Kaluuya (also the lead in Get Out). It was very good.

one-month break now but at least after that we've got a lot of Snooker ahead of us. The period between late September and Christmas is always good.

I've been out all day. Only caught the first two frames in parts. So there's a page's worth.

Congrats to Wilson, he finally bagged one, his first multi-session final win since his German Masters win back in 2019 and only his 3rd ever multi-session final win.

Kyren's record in finals isn't great either. I thought that at the start of the match.
Obviously, Hawkins final bottling is worse than Kyren's. Now official.

I dont think that Kyren will ever reach the very elite level or tournament win consistency like Trump or Robertson but given his age and the amount of tournaments we have he has a very good chance to reach double digit ranking titles which then would put him into the Top10 in terms of most ranking titles won.
if he adds a World title to that he'll have a pretty good career

I know I've said this before, but it's worth mentioning two of Kyren's rankers were the CL and the Paul Hunter Classic.
Saying that, he does have a good habit of getting into ranking events a lot. He just doesn't always convert them. Maybe just retaining the confidence from this tournament win is the key.

There is a Big4 in Snooker. Has been for a while (ROS,Trump,Robertson,Selby). I'd say 10 years now.
After that you have the 2nd tier topplayers and Kyren is one of them. Most Top16 players fell into that group. Even Higgins and MJW in fact. These 2 are obviously as good as the Big4 but they are simply not winning as much.

In terms of rankers, i think he'll end up in the bracket of where Murphy and Ding currently are....somewhere between 9 and 14. Maybe going beyond Ding if hes not overtaken by a group of better players, Can't see him catching anyone above that.
He will make a huge number of uarters and latter though
