He is one of those players who you felt would win a ranker or two at some point, even if he never got the consistency of a regular top 16 place.

Thoroughly enjoyed watching the last seven matches despite largely one-sided encounters. Pleased that Hossein Vafaei becomes the 45th player with a current tour card to win an event awarding ranking points. Hope that he can build on that platform. Deserved winner and positive result for the global future of the game. With eight different winners for eight ranking events, and three of those under 30, this is turning into a memorable season.

didn't see much, but the frame i saw vofaei was remarkable composed and focused. hopefully he can continue that the next time he's on the tv table. long seed to be a weakness for him.

I do believe Vafaei will be one of the few players who will make the most of winning an event like this.
Others haven't, but Vafaei I think will.
