Made that clearance much harder than it needed to, got it done though.

Bingtao wins on the final black!
Reminds me of Jordan Brown's win against Selby at the Welsh Open also in similar fashion.

Good win for Yan, but you can't help but feel that match posed more questions than answers. Don't see him beating John Higgins in the form Higgins is in at the moment.

Well he needed Selby to help him a bit, but nevertheless he won in the end.
He might play better tomorrow against Higgins who knows...

He literally landed the worst possible angle on the black.
If he’d have played harder for the yellow and missed the black you’d be calling him an idiot for not making sure of the black.
STFU Iranu !!! The black was unmissable. He was almost straight and very close to it.

EXACTLY! Anyone that plays snooker must know that finishing almost straight on the black like he did makes it very difficult to generate enough reverse side to find the correct angle onto the yellow.
The shot just isn’t really on. Unless of course you’re playing on a smaller table
The only other option was to play the same shot but with much more pace, finding a similar line but going past the blue for yellow to green bag. But that would be one of those 1 in 5 shots where you absolutely have to strike it perfectly. And if there’s one shot in the game that’s always going to bite you in the bottom if you play it with too much pace, it’s that one.

Best thing you can do on that shot is to get as much stun as possible to widen the angle as much as you can. But you still have to be able to get enough screw and reverse side. A power stun screw with reverse side. Tough shot.
Best Ronnie could have done is to get the white somewhere near the blue line and have a mid distance pot on the yellow. But with the angle on the yellow you'd have to play two cushion shot (baulk, side cushion) to get pos on the green.

He should have played it hard in order to get on the yellow to the green pocket. It's an easy shot for someone on his level, a 3 out of 5 at least.

I think it's a combination of it being a hard shot and maybe him not commiting 100% to the 147.
