Has to be the consistency of Dave Gilbert

Can't really explain why I'm so excited about Yan Bingtao. As you all know, I ain't Mark Selby's biggest fan, but this guy comes along with a very similar style and I think he's sensational.

Ronnie vs Brecel/ Fraser Patrick will be on at 14:00 tomorrow (after Judd Trump vs Mark King)
19:00: Neil Robertson vs Kyren Wilson
John Higgins vs Mark Selby/ Yan Bingtao
How does Judd always manage to get to the last couple of games in these tournaments without ever facing a decent seed?
He doesn’t. Thanks for asking.
Nah, you're right, I'm exaggerating, it was only a couple of tournaments recently. I guess my consternation in those events were magnified. The cards are falling nicely for him again though in this tournament, you have to admit that is definitely one form of luck.

It’s a fair point, though they’re falling equally well for Ronnie. Compared to say Selby/Yan, Higgins/Ding,

Exactly, last 16 should, theoretically, be another last 16 player. But Ding barely ever gets a clear run recently whereas some others are getting more. As they say, some days the balls fall right, some days they fall awkward.

Yan is the Chinese version of Selby. All he has to do is scoring heavier, And if he does he can have a very successful career just as his English counterpart.

That an exciting new talent emerged in this tournament, a 17 year old English player no-one's really heard of yet getting to the last 16...

Mark Allen winning the Northern Island open was pretty good.

Higgins v Yan [could] is becoming quite a regular thing
Not sure if I could cope with yet another quite so soon.

Indeed. Its starting to become somewhat repetitive now.

How?
It would only be the 3rd time this year should it happen. Hardly repetitive.
