Am I right in saying it was a bit drab last year, and improved towards quarters and (obviously) semis?

The 2nd round was very good last year.
5 of the 8 2nd round matches were very close, 2 deciders and 3 13:11's.

That could be a mini turning point, that was an amazing shot & certainly seems to have rocked Selby a bit. Not sure Allen has the stamina left to make it work long-term though.
