I have refused to watch this since it became a ranking event. I know it's a thoroughly pointless thing to do, achieves nothing and possibly deprives me of something that everybody else enjoys. But I just can't bring myself to watch it whilst it carries ranking points.

Then again, I said I'd never go the UK Championship again if they shortened matches and I finally relented.

You're not missing much, not as good without the crowds, bit disappointed as was looking forward to it (ranking event or not).

The fake crowd noises are really rubbish. Would have been better played in the quiet.

Or at least have a constant crowd noise like in football and push the Pink/Yellow buttons etc to play over that.

I think they said it was much quieter in the venue, and they've pumped it up for broadcast.
