I do actually believe if he hadn't played Ronnie last year he would have won it.
I think last year at The Crucible he was close to the form he showed in 2018. And remember, if Ronnie hadn't lost to Carter, he would MJW would play him in 2018, and who knows, might not have won the title then.
They are set to meet in the Semis this year though, and they never met at the one table setup.

So it's gonna be Higgins v MJW in the Semis here of the Winner's group. A great tasty match for things to come, as these two are poised to meet in the 2nd round at Sheffield.
