Mildly interesting bit of info from the Snooker Scene podcast.

You may have noticed that the commentary team for this tournament is always either Hendon and Johnson or Foulds and Studd.

Basically Hendon explains that the commentary teams have been split into two separate duos because should one of the team test positive, all four would otherwise have to isolate and there would be no commentary. This way, if one tests positive then the other team can at least cover all TV matches.

What if both teams test positive?

Then there will be no commentary, I suppose. But at least this way they’ve given themselves a contingency.

I guess they could stick Angles in there on his own if need be.

Shaun Murphy will step in and commentate.

Surely though they could do commentary fron four separate rooms so there’s no need for them to be together. They don’t even really needto be at the venue.

The Ronsters up against Matt Stevens, might as well give Ron a bye.

I should,nt be so harsh on J Robbo,i can mildly recall, that someone here wrote that J Robbo sometimes reads stuff here on Snooker Island, dunno if it,s true though. :chin:

All the same though,COMMME ONNN JOHN!,send that J Robbo geezer back to Snooker Island!. ;-)

It's not ideal them not being together... timing, interrupting each other etc

Baddie plays at the same club as Jimmy Robertson and Mark Davis I think. Seem to remember he got Robertson to do an interview for the Island.

Indeed, and it’s 32 down to 8 today. Should be a good day of snooker.

Yeah, not looking good for the Dingster.

I left the room with Ford looking certain to make a decent break, came back in and Ding’s clearing the colours. Big frame. It’s 2-1.
