No great loss but wish them well.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/arti ... eaths.htmlIn January 2018 60,000 People in the UK Died and flu was estimated responsable for about 30,000 and there's a vaccine for Flu so im not sure what is hope to gain from all this have to be honest it just seems pointless trying to stop it if Vaccines has that kind of success rate and that's been available for years

wells and gary wilson won't get tested. they updated the process so if someone tests positive they won't get retested for the next 30 days, and will be clear to participate as long as they have isolated and don't develop any symptoms.
basically because the test would still pick up inactive virus for a period after someone is no longer infectious.

influenza vaccine probably isn't a great comparison. because of the way influenza strains circulate and change annually. there is a degree of guesswork in creating an annual vaccine that will be effective against whatever strains will be most problematic each year. uptake rates of the influenza vaccine are also pretty low iirc.
the endemic human coronaviruses don't seem to show this behaviour. though we've never developed a vaccine against them so it's difficult to predict how effective they'll be and what kind of protection we can expect.

Reading the article, it appears that the high number of deaths that month were due to a couple of unusually aggressive strains of flu virus that weren’t covered by the vaccine.
Picking one month out of human history and proclaiming vaccines to be pointless because of it is a bit disingenuous.

Influenza mutates/changes a lot quicker than Corona does. Which means a vaccine against Corona should be a lot more successful.
However. We need to be calm and get back to normal instead of creating panic. Many sources show that for people who are in their 40's or younger Corona is about as dangerous as influenza. For children and teenagers its even less dangerous than influenza.
For people who are aged 60 and above it is definitely more dangerous than influenza. So we need to protect this age group.

Its fact there is a lot of deaths from flu every single year despite a vaccine it is claimed no vaccine is more than 50% successful. so what are we expecting of Covid Vaccine a miracle.
