SF2 17-17 Williams v Higgins SPLIT ODDS
Favourites on the left as usual
Welcome, Ladies and Gentlemen to the 2011 Betfred.com World Snooker Championship Prediction contest
1.Match winner predictions – Prior to each round* the match odds from one bookie (in order of preference) ]
Betfred, Betfair Stan James, William Hill and Ladbrokes will form the basis of the points scored.
Bookies favourite to win = 6 points
Bookies underdog to win = 8 points
Split odds = 7 points for the correct picked winner.
This system will run throughout the tournament.
For all templates the favourite for the match will be to the left.
Due to Excel, please use the templates provided.
Deadlines - if you miss a deadline then your predictions will be disallowed. Predict once play has begun will occur a 3 point penalty per match that has started.
[u]2. Correct score predictions – The following points system applies:
Round 1 to quarter-final (best of 19, 25): correct score = 4 points, 1 frame out = 2 points
Semi-final and Final (best of 33, 35): correct score = 5 points, 1 frame out = 3 points, 2 frames out = 1 point
You only get the points if you predict the correct winner.
3. Maximum break prize (to replace the high break prize system now defunct due to the proliferation of 147’s):
- pick any number of players for the maximum break award
- if a player you've nominated makes a maximum break you get 12 points
- if you nominate a player who fails to get a maximum break you get -3 points
- if you do not predict a maximum break you receive no points
(A maximum break is defined as a 147 with 15 reds or a 155 with 15 reds + free ball red)
NB - You dont have to predict a 147 if you dont think there will be one
4. Tournament winner predictions – Each entrant may choose 2 names for overall victory.
12 points for predicting winner, 6 points for predicting runner-up.
So the points schedule is as follows:
12 points: predict tournament winner, predict player who achieves maximum break
8 points: predict bookies underdog to win
7 points: predict winner in the event of split odds
6 points: predict bookies favourite to win, predict tournament runner up
5 points: predict correct score in semi-final or final
4 points: predict correct score in rounds 1, 2 and 3
3 points: predict correct score to within 1 frame in semi-final or final
2 points: predict correct score to within 1 frame in rounds 1,2 and 3
1 point: predict correct score to within 2 frames in semi-final or final
-3 points: predict player to make maximum break who fails to do so
