Even with Gilbert winning the championship league and getting to the quarter finals I'm not exactly doing well. It's going to be a similar season to last season for me. I know it's early days but I'm already fearing the worst.
It doesn't help that Ding hasn't played in any events yet either. That could have been a few extra points at least lol.

No change to the leaderboard as nobody has Williams on their team. So, at the end of the British Open, Snooker Fan leads the table by 3.5 points from chengdufan.

This is interesting: if John Higgins advances further than both Yan Bingtao and Mark Allen, Snooker Fan will complete a 'maximum break'. In other words, he will have scored the maximum number of points possible from the Northern Ireland Open.

How come everyone scored the same number of points for getting to the semis as they did getting to the quarters?

I don't know if my previous post was clear what I was on about, but it's an error that people scored the same in both the quarters and the semis?
I haven't played before, hence I'm not sure what the scoring system is, but reading the guidelines on the first page seems to suggest different scores are scored each round in a competition?

No. A player gains the same number of points for each stage they advance from the quarter finals onwards.
For example, a Group Two player will gain two points for making it to the quarter finals. They gain another two for making it to the semi finals (four for the tournament). Another two for making it to the final (six for the tournament). Another two for winning (eight for the tournament)

SnookerFan is on the final black in his attempt at a maximum, but it's not a gimme pot. He needs John Higgins to beat Mark Allen today.
