I tipped Maflin to be one of the two qualifiers to win. I think McGill will be the other.

Unsurprisingly Maflin vs Gilbert deliver us an enjoyable match, that always had 10-8 or 10-9 written all over it.

Usually a qualifier gets crushed in the 2nd round if he plays out of his skin in the 1st round.

Odds speak against Maflin. Higgins should beat him easily.

Judd Trump and John Higgins could meet in the semi finals. I'm not going to get carried away though and just going to take it one game at a time. Judd will need to improve a lot though if he is going to have any chance of retaining the title.

Anything could happen. Players flying in the first round against poor opposition could crumble next round. Players scraping through could find form later on. That tends to often be the case at the Worlds.
