That's because Ronnie is known to destroy most of his opponents and run away with matches because he's just the better Snooker player. Why would he need to cope with pressure on the level of Hendry? Should he start missing balls on purpose to give the other guys a chance to put him under pressure?

Too many excuses fly around here like "Murphy has a mental block vs Ronnie" when no one wants to admit that Ronnie is just the better snooker player so he's bound to have a better record.

O'Sullivan intimidates Murphy. O'Sullivan was himself intimidated by a 'Prime Hendry'.

Hendry dominated snooker like no one ever.

O'Sullivan is a very good player, but he is no Hendry.

O’Sullivan gave prime Hendry some tonkings. And Sullivan wasn’t even in his prime at that stage.

Hendry was a very good player, but he is no O’Sullivan.

Five titles and six finals is far too low for a player of his calibre. Even Higgins has two more world finals now. And thats because ROS has often struggled with the pressure.

In the other tournaments he has managed to fulfil his potential and surpassed Hendry.

Yeah Ronnie has every record except the most important one, The World Champs.

I wouldnt say he cant cope with the pressure there, but more so because that tournament is way too long for him and he often isnt willing to put the effort required to win. Hendry on the contrary loved that tournament and couldnt wait for it to start and he wouldnt mind if the tournament was longer, he would do everything to win it. Ronnie lacks that mentality at The Crucible.

Still, for someone who doesnt enjoy that tournament, he's done better than most players.

It can be called moaning on a high level given he's won it 5 times but it is the pinnacle of Snooker so you'd like to see him do better.

Agree about the mentality. Hendry couldnt wait for the WC to start and it was pure satisfaction for him to keep winning it. For Ronnie it is more like hard work for two weeks and get it out of the way. He wants to win but not that bad like Hendry imo.

He still has time to win a sixth but not much.

Ronnie is Great Hendry was Great lets leave it at that why do someone wants to score points all the time.

Theres no doubt a prime Hendry would have beaten Ronnie the way hes played this week very comfterbly but we know that what we seen this week is not prime Ronnie and nowhere near to it.

When both at their best ever game Ronnie would have won some and Hendry would have won some anyone who says different is in coocoo land.

I am not a reliable source. I don't feel cold weather. No sense, no feeling. I probably lack judgement in other areas also.

Both better players than Wattana and Darren Morgan.

Thanks Dan-Cat.

Was tempted to join in the O'Sullivan-Hendry debate with the knowledgeable posters up-thread.

However, decided to nail my hands to the kitchen table as it was slightly less painful.

Yes this will really hurt Judd if he loses. Take the shine right off his World and Masters title and make him feel that he is a fraudulent World Number One by only getting to the final here.

He won't be devastated by a loss, but it will hurt him a bit. He wants to beat Ronnie badly and prove that he is now the best player in the world and that he has surpassed Ronnie.
When he lost to Robbo last week, Trump wasn't that affected cause Robbo played great, so Trump kinda has an excuse that he wasn't exactly 100% himself, although he played very well.
But if Ronnie beats him playing exhibition snooker, he'll be very frustrated.

Interesting - when did Judd tell you all this?

When you next speak to him, wish him luck with the 100 centuries.

Cheers JB ;-)

Despite your sarcasm, you know I'm right BSP.
Judd desperately wants to beat ROS and take his place as the crowd favorite. And despite downplaying it, ROS also wants to win this event.

True. But it was pretty even in last year’s final.

I wish Judd all the best. He's in his prime, he's the man to beat, and he's working very hard. He deserves our respect. Beating an old man should be no problem...
