If Gary Wilson wins this match, I’ll run around Leicester naked with a daffodil up my bottom.

Phenomenal cue ball control and potting from Gary Wilson in the previous frame.

Is G. Wilson's temperament pretty solid? Selby got knocked out by McGill a few years ago and his temperament was a big part of that since his level of play was ok but not great. Maybe that could happen if that's the case?

Selby is responding in the same way, after Wilson missed a not so easy black. Quality stuff.

I think Gary Wilson has missed the boat here. Just like Zhao, he has failed to capitalise when Selby wasn’t at his best.

Still too early, I think, even if he made it 5-2.

Selby was the guy who was not in good form coming into this WC.
Tomorrow he'll be one of the first ones in the quarterfinals.
You literally need to scrape him off the table, otherwise he'll always be in with a chance.
Ugh.

Is it going to be 5-3 or 4-4?

Selby could make a meal out of beating an egg. He almost always does just enough. It's one of the reason why I can never warm to him TBH.

He rarely seems to be able to dominate a match, he always seems to just squeak by. I can probably count on one hand the amount of matches where he’s really dominated his opponent.

I’ve only ever seen Ronnie play a shot like that with the rest. That’s ridiculously difficult to pull off.

Good stuff Gary. He'll need to win the next session 5-3 as well to have any chance, but a good start.

You have to have massive balls of steel to play that shot with the rest like that.
