Good point.

Xintong will be tested fully at The Crucible with everyone watching.

I dont actually believe Ronnie's opponent will be a pushover. Cahill played superbly against Selby in the uk. I also remember cahill turning over Ding a few years back.

Ronnie may also underestimate his opponent or think he only has to turn up to win.

I have always thought Ron is more vulnerable early on and if cahill can stick with him.

Ronnie has not lost in the first round since 2003 which is a long time ago. It has to happen eventually?

Having said all that i dont think think Cahill will win as the occasion will get to him but dont be suprised if it is a lot closer than anticipated.

This tournament will be the ultimate test for Ronnie. Ability wise he is currently the best player on the planet. The question is, he can convert this year? He will be under a lot of pressure especially because he broke all these other records and there is not a lot left to beat except at the world championship.
Unfortunately he underperformed every year at the Crucible since 2013. He obviously lost to players he never loses to at the big stage which means it's at least partially a psychological problem for Ronnie.
But 2019 everything looks perfect, he never had better form going into the Crucible. Surely Ronnie is finally going to make it happen this year...?

He needs to win this to confirm his position as the best player. Every year since 2014 he come here as the topfavourite (bar 2017) as he won a lot of the non-WC events and had a great season until that point. But then failed to produce.

Crazy to think the last time he's reached the one table stage was in 2014 while Higgins got to two finals in a row.
