Yuan Sijun was a better teenager than Ding was, according to one noted expert.

As the rankings currently stand, Selby and Ronnie are scheduled to face each other in their first match...
They avoided each other for over 2 years, but could face 3 times this season already... at the players champs if they win their opening match, and that Tour Champs.
Yea but if either player gets past in to the semi finals the rankings could change dramaticly. theres a lot of money on offer.
Realisticly theres only 9 players that is a genuine chance of apearing in Llandudno Lisowski at 10 has to reach the final minimum and everyone below from 11 John Higgins has to really win the tournament even reaching the Final here wont be enough and for others 12 down to 16th they have to win the title here some have gibralter to come but its looking a impossible ask if they dont win this week.

Jeez. Really?
Remember when all the pundits were saying he'd do better than Ding.

So, whilst we're on the subject, what are people's opinions on this 'Chines revolution'? A good decade ago, a lot of pundits were saying the top-16 would be 50% Chinese within five years. That's clearly not happened.
Is it a case of there being quantity over quality with the Chinese players. Will there be a Chinese-heavy top-16 any time soon? Or ever?

There is a clear trend towards a greater number of Chinese players on the tour. The process of change will be gradual, and excepting some overnight transformation is clearly hyperbolic.
Half the top 16 being Chinese isn't particularly likely any time soon but there regularly being four or five seems probable in the next few years.

It's probably harsh considering how young they are but the new generation of Chinese players have now had several really good chances to win a title and none of them have been taken.

I watched the final back yesterday - Lyu could have won 5-3, he had golden chances in both of the last frames.

Ronnie has already lost.
He'll be so bad, they kick him out of the top-8 in time of the Tour Championships in a couple of weeks.
