No.
Kind of the opposite.

It probably won't happen now but it would be interesting in a future shoot out if a female player got paired against a pre teen male player. The organisers, and a good chunk of the public wouldn't want that to happen in case the female player lost. It wouldn't be a good reflection of the women's game, if one of their prime players lost to a boy, so it would be interesting how a lot of people reacted to it.

What it really mean anything?
It's the Shootout, for bucks sake. It's not like it's an actual snooker match.

It would be kind of funny if Kyren were to win this event and add it to his collection of "ranking titles" that already includes the Paul Hunter Classic...

I like the shootout. It shouldn’t be a ranking event though.

So, just a thought.
Should this be a ranking event?

They should change the world champs to this format.

They should just draw a name out of a hat, and that's the World Champion.

Well he's been on about the fans being knobheads all day, and that he hasn't watched it in a few years. Then he said he was settling down to watch it this evening. So I said, he seemed to be watching a lot of it for somebody who hates it.
And he replied; "When did I say I hated it? I told everyone I was giving it a chance today - you are better than that."

They should just give this event massive pockets. I want to see people going for ridiculous pots rather than guarding a ten point lead.
