Big names coming through which is nice.

Interesting match between ROS and Sijun tomorrow... looking forward to it.

Maybe ROS will go kamikaze for the first rounds and then get serious by the Last 32 or Last 16...

big question is will the kamikaze approach be enough to win those matches? we'll see...

He is considered the worst player to ever make the top 16, and he much prefers Stella Artois to classical music.

If Ronnie wins his next match, that will mean that his first 3 matches in this event will have been against players that he had never played before.

That must be pretty rare...

Greatest of all time list:

1. Stephen Hendry
2. Steve Davis
3. Ray Reardon
4. Ronnie O'Sullivan
5. John Higgins

I have Davis ahead of Reardon because even though they both won 6 World titles Davis won more tournaments overall. He was also number one for longer I believe.

Just to explain to the idiots out there who have O'Sullivan as the greatest (probably Brexit voters in the main) the criteria you require to determine the ultimate accolade are:

1. World Championships
2. Period at number one in the rankings.

The rest of it is Bullsh*t.

Hope this helps the retards out there.

Ok, so by using your criteria, the GOAT list looks like this:
1. Joe Davis.
2. Fred Davis
3. John Pullman
4. Hendry
5. Davis
6. Reardon
7. ROS
8. J. Higgins
9. Selby
10. Wiliams

Wow, great criteria, why didn't the rest of us think of it ?! <doh> <doh> <doh>

To be fair to Vodka, he has made it clear that World Championships are his criteria for success which is not a totally bizarre idea. To respond to JB, I think he meant the modern era.

I don't agree with the list as it goes bit it is valid enough reasoning.

Anyway, for the Welsh I would also most like to see Dominic win it. It would be a fairytale story.

Not me, I'm rooting for Doinic.

Fanboys can keep posting the same rubbish all the time but O'Sullivan has come up short where it matters most.

In any other sport you need to prove it in terms of most important titles won and by being world number one. Snooker is no different.

Achievements outweigh opinion every time.

Here endeth the lesson...

Yeah, sod it.

Dominic is retiring at the end of the season, isn't he?

Love to see him do well in the Welsh tournament. Imagine, one last ranking event for Dominic.

Yo SF

I will be watching what I can today.

Regarding Fu vs Lisowski, I think it is a very interesting match up and difficult to call.

I will plump for Lisowski as he is generally in good form, but he will need to apply himself tactically.

Re: ManBetX Welsh Open Last 64 !!

Postby SnookerFan

To be honest, I would've said Lisowski all day, until Fu knocked Ronnie out of Cheltenham last week.

I didn't see that result coming.

Oli Lines vs Ding could produce an upset.

Lines has done little of note recently but he is capable, and scrapping for his tour card. Ding should win easily but will be vulnerable to an early exit.

At the moment, I give anybody at least a 50/50 chance of beating Ding.
