Allen has no longer won the Masters every year he has faced Brecel in round 1

New year, new Luca?
Excellent standard from him, that pot to get in, in the decider was orgasmic.

Eleven frames in a bit over two hours of play time, fastest best of 11 match ever?

That long pot under pressure was fantastic. Got to give Luca some confidence.

Ronnie beat Walden in an hour in 2014.

Allen was very lucky in frame 8 as well when he butchered a shot and left Luca in the reds, but somehow left nothing on.

I wrongly worded that, I meant match with all 11 frames.

Not sure if there's an easy way to check match times.

I hope Luca keeps improving now. Just needs to control the cue ball a bit more and know when to play safe. He's great to watch when playing his best. I think Jimmy is right, Luca needs to play an attacking game. But sometimes he takes it too far. Sometimes you need to play safe.

It was a very high scoring match, overall. Allen had breaks of 67, 96, 136, 83 and 99. Brecel had breaks of 75, 50, 140, 88 and 58.
Both players safety play was non existent. The only thing between the two players was run of the ball, and most of that went Luca's way, which is what helped him win in the end.

I saw the coolest busker on the way home. He was playing a guitar, but had these Muppet style toys that reacted to the music, and were playing drums with him.
