34 Ranking Tournaments has pased since December 2016 when Mark Selby last played against Ronnie O'Sullivan in the UK Final which Selby won 10-7.

In the other Semi Final Judd Trump is odds on faverite to reach the final against Eden Sharav who came back from 4-1 down to beat Peter Ebdon 5-4.

One of the greatest rivarlies in Snooker has another chapter!

Fair play to Eden for getting this far, but I will be utterly, utterly amazed if he beats Trump.

Trump should win confortably, so nothing more to be said there.

As for the other match... firstly Selby, who's played well all tournament and scoring as well as he's done for some time. As for Ronnie... played very well v Vahedi and Yuelong, but the other 3 matches his opponents had enough chances to make the match a lot closer.

Selby has played better than him overall but with these 2 it's all on the day. I don't think tiredness will be a huge factor on Ronnie's part... hard to pick a winner, but I'm going to stay positive and say Ronnie wins it 6-5.

Jesus, Selby is undoubtedly one of the best when it comes to taking on O’Sullivan, but has won less than 40 per cent of their matches.

Ronnie is a massive favourite against Selby. Expect an easy win

Mind you, in real matches, not shot clock or lower than best of nine, it’s only 8-7 to O’Sullivan.

Ronnie hasnt played better than Selby in this tournament. Maybe his h2h is better but that's his only advantage. I make Selby favourite for sure.

For sure, and some of those matches were long before Selby’s prime.

I fancy Selbo to win later today. O’Sullivan has not been impressive.

In Matches where winning tournaments gets close Semi or Final its 7-5 to Selby

Love the fact we finally have another Selby versus O'Sullivan encounter after all this time. It's probably the closest we currently have to a snooker equivalent of El Classico. Really looking forward to it. On form through this tournament, I'd have to give the slight edge to Selby, plus there must be fatigue issues coming into play for Ronnie at some point.

As for the other semi, Trump will win that one easily. Sharav has no chance unless Mossad get involved.

Its unbelieavble since the World Final in 2014 they only played 4 times and one of them was in the rubbish champioship league.

when you consider the amount of tournaments they have won between them since then to only meet 4 times

Selby versus O'Sullivan is, without question, snooker's greatest rivalry. Yes, there are rubbish, one-sided matches between them, but the clash of styles and, at times, needle make it the best pairing. They're both the best exponents of their respective styles.

Yes its quite incredible that. Thet met 3 times in 2016 in important matches, but apart from that its only the World Final since then.

I agree with Pinks... these 2 players are the best exponents of their respectives styles of play... ROS attacking, and Selby tactical.

Some are more important than others thats what he tried to say.

Yeah but they are all included in the H2H bar the Shoot-Out and the CL

ROS's H2H is bound to be better with Selby building up to beating him over a period. There are few players who don't run scared of ROS. Very few. Selby is certainly one.

I,ve gotten up especially very early today as i,m off to shop for a new jacket.

I,ve got tons of clothes,but i,ve got very few jackets,especialy ones suitable for the winter.

I,m extremely choosy with clothes,i can go in about 20 diffrent shops and find nuthin that i like,i just read that the Selbs/Ronnie match is on at 13.00,so i,ll make sure i,ll get back in time for that.


I won,t be able to see any of Eden again,as i,m invited with the missus to freinds to have some Fondue n wine.



Edens had the time of his life this week,but Judd will end it tonight,we,ve all witnessed shock results over the years but Judd will send Eden back to Israel.

Sounds like you’ve got a great Saturday planned. My mate gave me a leather jacket recently in Ibiza and i’ve been rocking it ever since. Fondue: that’s a blast from the past! I had a Swiss girflriend for a few years. Her family would eat fondue with schnapps and black tea, which helps break down the cheese ball in your stomach. Weird.

Ronnie pickes and chooses events to play in very carefully so that wont happen.
