Ill be honest i did not enjoy this tournament at all just too many centuries it took away the shine of the event ad definitly World Snooker needs to look in to this 107 centuries was about 30 more than the average for this type of event that can not be the standards improving.
Earlier this week someone mentioned to me the contreversary in Darts where Since Barry Hearn took over the Trebles have been made bigger in PDC Events and thus the averages have gone up i fear the same thing is happening in Snooker
Wildey,i fully agree that it,s a farce that there were so many centurys in this tourney, there was definatley something that made it easier to make more BIG breaks/centurys.
As you wrote,"If thinner cloths make Balls slide in easier then they need to change the template and if World Snooker or Barry Hearn cares for credability of the sport something needs doing because im gettig really bored of so many centuries".
I still give credit to Allen in managing to make 14,he still of course had to pot the balls and he made way more than the rest of the crop, although one could maybe argue,if others players had gotten as far as the final, then they would also have made more BIG breaks and bumped up there century tally, but as you wrote,or the point you were gettin at/making,if thinner cloths are making it easier to make centurys, then Hearn should get that sorted out!.
Also!,.....
,....Check this vid out, when i also read what you wrote bout the darts,it rang a bell,i,ve managed to fish out what good old John Lowe has to say about it,"i think the trebles are BIGGER",he said.
