Definitely. People should watch that quarterfinal against Higgins in 2002.

Even that world final in 2000 against Williams. He was absolutely destroying him and led 13:7. And then obviously bottled it.

Stevens earned £107k last season (in ranking events.) Take away tour expenses (approx £25k) and add exhibitions that's not a bad salary to play a ball game considering the amount of time off you get, particularly if you are going out early in a lot of tournaments.

Good post.

Alot of people will scoff at that and say is that all, but you have to keep it in perspective. Yeah, it's not millions, but would you rather be earning 70k a year, travelling the world and doing something you love or 70k working some boring office job?

That's why I never feel too sorry for alot of these journeymen on the tour that complain about prize money. Sure, you're not earning the big bucks like the top boys, but you're still getting a great wage compared to the average man on the street.

His first quarter since 2014 Australian Open.

Imagine if he won this now though. Would be a much bigger shock and surprise result than MJWs WC win.

It's a shame he can earn so well despite being so bad recently.

But this was a passing of the baton match, Ding is the new Stevens, was a good player when he was young but useless after he turned 30.

Too much pressure being put on Ding's shoulders from the 3bn+ Chinese people. It's ruined him.

He had 107,000 points in 17/18 season

In the two-year ranking list, yes.
