WHat annoys me most in these ceremonies is that they are so long and yet they dont even interview the players lol....

such a waste of time.

they interview Gilbert at last...

But I've seen many ceremonies when they dont interview the players.

Once again big congrats to MJW.

Showed why he is World Champion, and now WN2 ahead of ROS, if he carries on like this he could surpass Selby and be WN1 again.

MJW! :win:

I havent seen the match but must be absolutely sickenening for Gilbert to lose after leading 9:5.

I bet, he bottled it? However. What a week for MJW though. Could have lost 3 or 4 matches quite easily but he's escaped everytime. And now he's 150 thousand pounds richer and a 22 time ranking event winner. And he's been winning all the close matches as well.

Everything goes well for him atm. And no doubt there's more to come. The old man has achieved some things recently which no one thought he'll ever be capable of doing. He must be having some fun out there.

And he could and probably should be World number 1 very soon given how much points Selby might lose this season.

I went out at 8-5 and Gilbert in the balls for 9-5, he looked pretty secure surprised he bottled it, but watching that sky mind games program the other day mental strength is massive and the best have it

I am just glad that no one on Twitter has wished Gilbert ill. Gilbert doesn't deserve to be told that he should suffer horrible illnesses because he choked ....

That’s because nobody bet on Gilbert. They all backed Williams.

It's a seven hour drive to the airport.

By tractor it would double that time to 14.

Or he could go quiet for the rest of the season.

Many good players have won a tournament early and done nothing else. But I don't think that will happen to MJW.

A Few years back Williams was called a bottler on here and social media.

Mark Williams has never been a bottler he was lacking confidence and at last a whole new generation of fans now gets to see what Mark Williams was as a player.

Hes not the player he was late 90s early 2000s but hes as close as hes been since.

The amount of crap talked about him prior to the World Final was staggering. It's as if he didn't belong in the same arena as John Higgins.

Sport is fickle.

Maybe in a few years even Ronnie might be forgotten just how good he was

Not likely with all the pornographic snooker videos uploaded by his fanboys.

Sory mate but not even the best players in the world are immune to bottle matches.

He really did bottle some high profile matches since 2010. Just admit it, even the best bottle, ROS certainly has bottled some big matches too, Hendry as well. All of them do at some point.

MJW was the same, but it's a testament to how good he is that he managed to recover from bad losses in the past. Hats off to him.

I for one couldn't be happier, my 2nd favourite player.

I don't think anyone in this forum has ever called prime Williams a bottler. I think most people know how good he was under pressure. Post-prime Williams however is a different story.

There were countless matches and it was like daily routine- even against absolutely weak opponents- to see Williams completely losing the plot and missing the easiest balls from a perfect position, absolutely gifting his opponents the win. Thats what this new generation of fans was used to see week after week.

Its just since a year or so Williams has proved them wrong and I'm glad he did.
