Paul Hunter Classic !!!

Wednesday 22nd of August~Sunday 26th of August in Stadthalle, Fürth, Germany.

The Turnout for the Paul Hunter Classic with only 3 top 16 players is disapointing and not fitting for a tournament associated with Paul. not even his best mate Matthew Stevens has entered whitch is surprising.

But theres 219 players thats there with 79 main tour proffesionals headed by Defending Champion Michael White and Shaun Murphy who he beat in last years final.

The event was previously won by the likes of Paul Hunter in 2004, Judd Trump in 2010, Ronnie O'Sullivan in 2013, Mark Allen in 2014, Ali Carter in 2015, and Mark Selby who has won it 3 times (2011,2012,2016)

Who will win this year?

They should name your local league after Paul Hunter.

I think so.

In the sense, he won the Pro-Am tournament that was later named after him.

I might be wrong, but I thought that's why they chose this event.

Yes he won the Grand Prix Furth in 2004 which later became the PHC

Would Hearn go for that?

Something has to happen you cant have a ranking tournment like this one whats the point?

No Sponsor, No TV Coverage, No proper set up. To the eye there will be no difference watching this on player than watching the qualifiers.

I see your point.

But Hearn has never been one to listen to sense. <laugh>

@Nick007J
12 year old Iulian Boiko has just beaten Brandon Sargeant in Paul Hunter Classic, 4-2!

Brandon Sargeant has beaten a few pros, so a good win for the Ukrainian

Iulian plays against Billy Joe Castle in the last 128. Is he the youngest to play in a pro match?

Not really, no. I've noticed him in the u18 and u21 world/euro championships as he's been one of the youngest. He's not been particularly impressive apart from his funding as he plays in a lot of comps over the world. Apparently he's made a big leap this year, here's a recent 123 break https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=eqGTJejdZIg
