McGill could win another 5 frames before Ding wins and it still won't have been a close match.

Northern Ireland is part of the UK but not part of Britain.
I always thought that “Britain” and hence “British” could mean the UK or Great Britain.
Technically Britain is the island that houses England, Scotland and Wales. That's why British passports and Olympic teams are actually "Great Britain & Northern Ireland".

It does. Geographically, NI isn’t part of “Great Britain”, but the term still applies.

Judd doing all the scoring but losing the close and tactical frames due to poor misses.
Wont help vs Higgins either.

Nice finish, think Ding was too focused on trying to win with a session to spare to play his best.

True. But he was pretty grim, until the last frame.

McGill was worse as well. 83% pot success.

If O'Sullivan or Higgins or Selby got out of a session like that 4-4 you'd be raving, and rightly so. Ding was very poor, but that's a bit of a result.

I'm back home from an entertaining afternoon session at the Crucible Theatre. Highlights include Higgins' 146 and a very funny moment in the Williams v Milkins match, that I also got to see some of.
Still gutted about Ronnie's defeat but pleased I went up today. Viva snooker!

8-8 then, sets up things nicely.
I just hope its not like the Allen v Perry match, which was 8-8 until Allen fired away for 13-8.
