Race to the Crucible: Qualifying Round 2 (April 15th & 16th)

Sunday 15th & Monday 16th of April at the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield

Round 2 and only 7 of the lowest ranked players survived Round 1 and two players from the top 32 was knocked out Mark King (20) and Anthony Hamilton (29). Also out are two players that played at the Crucible last year Fergal O'Brien and Gary Wilson.

World Champions Graeme Dott, Ken Doherty, Peter Ebdon made it through as did the ever Popular Jimmy White.

Joe Perry will be tough to beat for Jimmy White.

Also Mark Davis will find Georgiou tough.
Jimmy Robertson faces Sam Baird who seems to get the better of him.

I see Greene is up against Doherty.

I was thinking Dale really should not lose to Dunn but then I saw they are quite close in the rankings.
There are a few players who go under the radar in the rankings.
David Gilbert is one.

The Whirlwind’s AST is nearly 28 seconds just now, 8 seconds slower than the Gentleman.

I would like to see Sunny at the Crucible.
His match with ROS this season was one of the most dramatic I have seen

Well, the tournament hasn't started properly yet. And already the Watch Thread has gone wrong.

Ricky leads 3-1 seems a very slow match though I think that due to Lee Walker

Matthew went 4-2 behind but a break of 70 means he’s back to 3-4

You should be. It's Matthew Stevens.

Alfie Burden 4-1 up on Gilbert. If he wins he play either Thepchaiya or Stefanow, so potentially an unexpected qualifier from that section.

Yuan Sijun would also be an unexpected qualifier and he has Stephens and Doherty or Greene in his way, so definitely an opportunity for him.
