Ian Preece was the first to end the 1st session, taking a 5-4 lead over Zhou Yuelong (or Ghou Yolonge, as Dennis says).
Donaldson pulled two frames back, but Ursenbacher responds with a half century to make it 6-2.

Looks like Yan Bingtao stole a second frame on the last black to lead 5-3.

Donaldson closes to 6-3, could be an interesting second session now, though Ursenbacher had a similar experience in the first and came through. Rhys Clark wins three on the bounce to pull back to 5-4 against Gilbert. Hopefully one of the young Scots can win.

Perry went in-off from the blue, while he was on 52 break, but he was lucky earlier with a fluke on a red.
Surprised to see Rhys Clarke winning three frames in a row, Gilbert was looking the only highly ranked player to have an easy match on this session.

Perry takes a 5-3 lead. Although he's not playing well, he somehow manages to get the match under control.

I only noticed on this match how strange is Akani Songsermsawad's cueing with the rest.

I really thinking Baird could go well at Sheffield such a quick scorer and a real danger.

He's an interesting player. He has talent for sure, I always thought it was his head left him down. But I was impressed with the game he gave Selby last year.

I think that Lee Walker won't have problem against Reanne Evans.
I predict a 10-5 or 10-6.

But, you thought Anthony Hamilton would lose to Craig Steadman!

Li Hang 6-0 Mike Dunn.
Can Li be a threat for Maguire? Discuss.

Xiao ends the session against Baird 7-2 ahead, expected that to be closer.

Sad that Reanne Evans is getting hammered. Love to see her at The Crucible.

Yes, that prediction was hilarious. GJ also thought Robbo would be a mulitiple world champions - when everyone knows he just benefited from a lucky draw the year he won it.
