The man is indeed the greatest doubler this game has ever seen! Great 147, aside from that double, those 2 reds to yellow pocket were great, plus some of he tricky thin blacks he knocked in, and even the opening red, a drag shot, not easy.
Plus those 2 tons earlier on
He's indeed in a purple patch right now.
Enjoy it while it lasts, because it won't last forever, and one hard defeat can knock your confidence in a heartbeat.
Yes it will.
Everything lasts forever. Everything.

I've just seen Allen's interview yesterday
One comment on YT summs it up: "At last, Mark's starting to resemble his hero Alex in more ways than just being a brilliant Northern Irish snooker player..."

Unfortunately for him it will not last.
But I must admit that he is the strong man of the moment, the man to beat.
Both him and Ronnie are set to meet in the Quarters, but still not garanteed both will reach that stage, especially Ronnie... he seems to be more interested in punditry than actually winning matches at these events...

I do like it when one player rises up like this to be the man to beat. It's exciting for the sport

Sport needs narratives and drama. Now Ronnie, be a good boy and spank him in the quarters and show him who's boss.

One feels all the same that ronnie is in the process of rising in power. It would not surprise me that he founds his A game and flies during the uk championship.

Mark Williams and David Gilbert are the biggest threat to Higgins in his section, for Ronnie it's probably Kyren and Mark Davis. Obviously both big favourites but best of 7s.

If it doesn't happen in this tourney, it'll happen in the next ones. With the amount of tournaments they are bound to play each other again at some point. I hope though it'll be at the World Championship.
Just wanna see one more Bo25/Bo33 or Bo35 match between them.

Couldn't be more fitting in a tournament named after Alex Higgins!

Of course not, that would be an impossible goal to reach. But I think we're about to overcome Murphy, which is always nice!

Both didn't play well, but it was Ronnie who made the most mistakes.
