But the similarity ends there : 1-4 down to Matthew Stevens

Isn't Cahill actually related to Hendry not sure if blood related though so looks might just be a coincidence.

He is the fruit of Hendry's loins.

Yep, he's Uncle Stephen. His sister's lad, I believe.

Lines should have got his wish granted and drawn Ronnie... the way Ron played yesterday Lines would have been lucky to pot a ball <ok>

Of course Robbo is an easier draw, duh! espeially the way he's been of late...

Lines 4-3 up

Jamie Curtis-Barrett has come from 0-4 to 3-4 against Joe Perry

Decider alert between Thepchaiya un Nooh & Liam Highfield

And Angles back on against Michael Wild, and has just forced the decider here too...

I can see Lines beating Robbo, unless he starts bottling it or Robbo really up his game and puts pressure on Lines.

If neither of these 2 scenarios happen, Lines should really beat him.

5-3 to Lines

It'll be intriguing to find out who (if any) was the last defending champion to exit the competition prior to the TV stages.

Should Lines win of course

If Angles wins this match he'll be the 3rd player to do it from that deficit in Best of 11, the other 2 being Bond and Poomjaeng.

He's only gone and done it!!!

His long potting was way off, which has been his main strength

And in that I'm discounting the fact that O'Sullivan didn't defend his title last year or that he conceded his first match of the 1998 UK Championship defence.

Judd Trump, Mark Williams and Matthew Stevens have all been defeated in their first match of a UK Championship defence in the past decade and a half. They used to hold over four Last 32 matches when 48 players competed at the venue so presumably if it has happened it'll have come during the era when the BBC TV stages started at the Last 16 or third round matches.

He's the son of Hendry's (former) wife's sister. So there's no blood relation.

A player of his quality.. wasn't expecting this kind of downfall from him since this title 12 months ago... even in the Riga Masters he wasn't too convincing...

GJ..
