I said the standard from the afternoon would be very hard to top, but if these 2 carry on like this then
2-1 Ronnie.
MDG score: Allen 6-0

Ronnie has missed a good opportunity here. Little bit more screw, he would have been oerfect on the black and no doubt it would be 3:1. Now Allen has an easy table in front of him. Should be 2:2.

Ding won six reds and Shanghai Masters but that's not really the same league.

Ronnie's splits off the reds from the black used to be very good, but nowdays leave a lot to be desired...
Anyway, 2-2., all to play for. Tremendou match so far.

Good point. And imo its not just the splits off the black. Just generally he's struggled a lot with his splits recently. Very rarely his splits seem to work these days.

Just looked up Allen's highest ranking which is 6.
Supprising but maybe appropriate since he's never really challenged for the triple crown titles except for tat UK final

Bottom line hes not match sharp apart of that theres nothing wrong apart from hes getting to veteran stage where form isnt as automatic as it used to be

The standard today in general has been so high. Breakbuilding and safety, though that was better this afternoon.

He's looking very good at times. But as Clive summed it up. At the same time he can make an unforced error at anytime.

He's stil not at that level when the unforced errors are a rarity...
still, if this is good enough to win him matches, then I dont really mind. It's worrying when it's not enough.
