This is what pisses me off the most... great performances against Ronnie, then next round or 2 rounds after they lose, and they lose quite heavily
To be fair even if Ronnie had knocked Holt out yesterday, if he had played like that today Bingo would beat him, simple. But we'll never know... a diferent day and a diferent match.
Holt today is doing so far what's expected from a player like him...

Holt's had his 'Cup final' yesterday and now he's struggling to get up for Bingham.

This today is the real Michael Holt. Yesterday we just saw a journeyman playing out of his skin.
Now hes dropped back to his normal level.

It's not just Ronnie though. We see this all the time with Selby, Robbo, Trump etc getting knocked out by a lowlier player and then they fold next match.

Nobody said it was just with Ronnie, but for ROS fans we can't be neutral about this.

Mark Selby just made back to back centuries - 127 and 132 to go 2-1 over the self-styled gent.
Bingham meanwhile is back in the balls. Holt, you dolt. Agreed Andre it's gutting to watch this.

For me it's not gutting because this is exactly what I expected from Holt today. If he played out of his skin that's what would surprise me.

In hindsight, I wonder if Ronnie should have stayed an extra few days in China to compete in the China Championship? He definitely didn't look too sharp at times yesterday v Holt.
(Granted, he withdrew long before this tournament.)
But It's a non-ranker (China Championship), with enormous prize money...and perhaps he could have played himself into better form ahead of a 'big' November:
Champion of Champions
Northern Ireland Open (will he enter?)
UK Championship!!!

If it's Selby v Bingo, I do hope Bingo gets his revenge after the bad loss in Shanghai Semis from 5-3 up. He said that loss hurt him a lot and would tak time to recover.

Ronnie has entered NI Open yes PoolBoy.
I think he'll play in all Home Nations events.

Top scoring from Bingham it must be said. Two 80+ breaks in the last two frames.

Amazing stuff from Selby. Back to back centuries.
And Stuart playing so well.
Holt is nonexistent. This boy is not consistent.
As expected , this match is a one-way.

Hopefully Bingo makes it 6-0 or 6-1, that would be pleasing!

Even if it were a ranker, I don't think Ronnie would have entered China Champs. It's way too much time staying in China for his liking.

Selby 3-1 could be another battle between numbers 1 & 2
