Yeah, apparently he did! Didn't see it, but sounds like a dramatic final pot, to edge out Zhang Anda!

A few results:
Michael Holt 5-2 Mark King
Anthony McGill 5-0 Paul Davison
Liang Wenbo 5-4 Zhang Anda

Latest:
Peter Ebdon 3-4 Scott Donaldson
Ben Woollaston 3-4 Jack Lisowski
Michael White 3-4 Jimmy Robertson

Woollaston recovers to sneak through 5-4 and book his place in Shanghai!

Ben Woollaston 5-4 Jack Lisowski

But, even more dramatically, Michael white has come-back from 1-4 against Jimmy Robertson to triumph 5-4!
And, even better, it was a 66-66 tie in the final frame, which the Welshman took on a re-spotted black!

Michael White 5-4 Jimmy Robertson

Ebdon v Donaldson has gone to a final frame. The young Scot held a 4-2 lead, but Ebdon has forced the decider.

Stephen Maguire 5-2 Andrew Higginson

David Gilbert 5-2 Ian Preece
Mark Davis 4-5 Kurt Maflin (Maflin needed the final two frames...a sore one for Mavis!)

This is pretty fantastic run from Mei Xi Wen. Lam, Wilson, and 5-1 vs Dale last night. And now leads Dott 4-0 at the break. :o

Selt and Gould also with 4-0 leads. Day 3-1 and Brecel shares the frame count with Carrington, 2-2.

Matt Selt 5-0 Hammad Miah
Ryan Day 5-1 Nigel Bond
Graeme Dott 0-5 Mei Xiwen
Martin Gould 5-0 Matthew Stevens

I've a feeling that Graeme Dott is going to have a real struggle this season....and Matthew Stevens is another who is really just a pale imitation of his former self.

There are some cracking matches first round for this already, makes me wish for a return to the old tournament structure.

Caught a bit of the Mags game both players getting frustrated and giving the table a smack, he's going to be the player to watch this season for me. My initial thought is now he's out of the top 16 he's going to really start to drop down the rankings. Hope I'm wrong I'd like to see him win one of the bigger rankers this season.
