Grand Prix always was BBC event so why Hearn decided to sell rights to ITV? Money?

The original Grand Prix was dropped by the BBC. They didn't want to show it any more.
Alo, the last year it was on the BBC, it was renamed the World Open. So it could be argued this isn't the same event. When ITV first became interested in snooker, they wanted more UK based tournaments so they could show it at more sociable hours. The Champion Of Champions was invented as a UK event for ITV 4. As was the World Grand Prix.
