The Chinese are now 3-0 up! Looks like the hosts will triumph....
But, in this single-frame format, Higgins and Maguire could each win a single frame plus the 'lottery' of the doubles leaving a final frame decider!

Higgins/Maguire 41-69 Yuelong/Bingtao

China B leads Scotland 3-0 and somehow through the back door China is on the Brink of successfully defending the title.

Stephen Maguire 67-18 Yan Bingtao

Scotland wins their first frame of the final to pull back to 3-1

China B retains the title for China with a 4-1 win over Scotland

John Higgins 44-71 Zhou Yuelong

Amazing performance from the youngsters during the whole tournament, they fully deserved the title!

Zhou was the best player in the final, but Yan is also a potential top player in the near future.

Great, now we have a 15 year old child playing in the CoC. That will really boost the status of the event.

I would rather see Yuelong and Bingtao play than fossils like Davis or White qualifying via Seniors World Championship.

Million % agree

For snooker to thrive in to a prosperous future the past has to be put to bed once and for all.

Caught none of this (and tbh not really bothered about it) but well done to the young Chinese teens. Think Mike White was the first winner of a pro event born in the 90s when he won India, and only a few months later we have the first winner of a pro event born in the 2000s.

My point is that one of the criticisms of too many lucrative restricted field events on the tour is that they are unfair on those many pros that aren't allowed to compete. Now we have a situation where two players are qualifying for a very lucrative restricted field event via another very restricted field event, where they only entered that one because of China being allowed to have two teams.

What next, a Masters entry based on who got to the final of the Champion of Champions event, where entry to the champion of champions event is via the World Cup, where entry to the world cup is via a wild card based on your country, where your eligibility for wild cards is based on...

Meanwhile, most pros have to try to win gruelling 128 field events to get any glory at all on the tour. Far less chance of winning those.

There is a restricted entry in to Olympics too?

you have to be top players of your nation to compete and there aren't any England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland in that tournament.

@Wildey and Pink ball

I'm not saying there should be no political manipulation to accommodate restricted field events, in fact we need a non-democratic manipulation for commercial considerations, but I just think that there is a difference between having to jump through one hoop (where things are relatively clear and transparent) and having to jump through multiple hoops where there is a kind of opaqueness and lack of clarity. Basically, just keep things simple.

Its a fun event designed to put together teams to compete as nations. China Was given a wild card team as the host nation (rubbish idea) but there you go and they went with Wild Card players to play in the team and they won it.

Don't take it too serious but having said that as Gimmicky Novelty event this Shitted all over Sky's version of the Premier League, Championship League, 6 reds snooker bullocks, Shoot out, Power Snooker and World Seniors that Sky is bucking about with.
