Projected END OF SEASON rankings

Postby Witz78

Remember the old style Provisional rankings which only changed at the end of each season?

Well out of boredom ive just fiddled about on Excel and compiled this seasons projected end of season rankings.

Essentially the totals are the sum of last season points, this seasons points to date, minimum points for the UK and German Masters, then ive projected the minimum points for the remaining rankers of the season based on the assumption players will still be in the ranking theyve started this current period on (for example, Ronnie assumed to be in 17th so will recieve 575 for Welsh and not 700 ) One last addition i did was added in a minimum 840 PTC finals points to the 6 PTC winners to date.

My immediate thoughts is what a disappointing time it is to have a number one with only juan proper title to show for it in the last 2 years. Much as I ain't Higgins' biggest fan, we all know he's the real number one were it not for that stitchup in Kiev.

by the time that list becomes reality he could have World and UK Double and about 3 other finals such is the consistancy level of Selby which rankings should reflect.

difference is Selby is equal with any player in snooker in most departments she was not in Tennis.

had Higgins not been banned theres no guarantee he would have had the drive, the focus he did have to win thoes events its all speculation and either way Selby would be second at worst.
