Re: Latest Provisional Rankings Discussion Topic

Postby Wildey

the best thing as far as im concerned is the strides Jack is making from 52 at start of season to 39 now this guy is the real deal lets not forget he could reach the top 32 after 2 seasons thats right up there with the very best players.

Trump WILL climb ahead of him soon tho, infact he briefly did earlier in the season provisionally before Robbo got his act together

but Robbo has over 10,000 more points than Trump to lose this season but is only just over 4,000 points ahead

bar the movement upwards of Lisowski and Woollaston theres hardly much sign of a revolution

biggest joke is the tour newcomers, ive projected rankings to the end of the season and theres honestly zilch chance of these guys making the top 64 bar some kinda freak run deep into a tounrnament which is about as realistic as Snookerfan taking a walk on the wild side and putting pickle on his cheese roll <doh>

yes Robbo point tally for last season is the worst of any of the top 10 so he has to work twice as hard to get that back this season but hes doing a great job of it second in the one year list.

it is a bit of a joke the fuss World Snooker making of the fact Ronnie is 12th http://www.worldsnooker.com/page/NewsAr ... 13,00.html in the new updated Rankings .

it means zilch at the end of the day

the only 2 lists that count is
http://www.worldsnooker.com/page/Seedin ... 35,00.html

and

Stephen Hendry is slowly creeping towards the Top 16

Start= 16
Revision 1= 21
Revision 2= 20
Revision 3=19

ok getting back in meens Better Results is needed but he is hanging on in there.

Re: Latest Provisional Rankings Discussion Topic

Postby Witz78

He aint mate. Look at my provisional end of seasons thread i updated last nite. Hes going to need more than last 32s and a once in a blue moon last 16 to make any real impact.
Biggest joke for me is Gould heading towards top 10, has he ever actually beaten a top player or made a quarter final haha.
Good to see carter will be starting next ranking period up to 7000 points off the top 16 haha

Re: Latest Provisional Rankings Discussion Topic

Postby mtarsky147

The greatest shake-up to the Top 16 in the next 12 months will unfortunately not be done on the baize, but in the press conference arena by Ronnie and Carter toying with retirement.

I assume that should one or both retire, would 65th and 66th stay on the Main Tour?

With O'Sullivan, Dott & Allen not present in Bendigo, Bingham and Walden can open a substantial gap to those 3 if they keep their form.

Re: Latest Provisional Rankings Discussion Topic

Please accept my humblest apologies for failing to seek out other web posts before publishing here, Skullman. How short sighted of me to have fallen foul of your clever observational skills. I'm sure others on here will prepare to feel the same humiliation I currently feel.....like Wild, whose hourly updates on "scores" or "order of play" are now redundant on the basis that they can "be found elsewhere". Or Monique or Sonny daring to "go to the effort" of quoting anything that has already been seen worldwide on Twitter 2 and a half seconds previously.

Firstly, it's no effort at all for me to update rankings, as the file and template are already in place. And, having not looked at PSB today, I can't comment on whether Matt has an identical list to me. I will state however, that Matt from PSB actually approaches ME for some of the info on his site, and it seems from your post that today Matt was up earlier than me, and got there first with the updated list.

Finally, I am honoured that you would take a break from your 1000 posts per month workload to attempt to wind me up. At a guess, from your 4 and a half thousand posts, about half of those are pointless descriptions of a shot you've just watched being played, and 90% of those are in reply to.....yourself.

Your parents must be so proud.

Re: Latest Provisional Rankings Discussion Topic

Fair enough, I tried making my list once, and it took ages. Didn't want you to go to the effort for something that's linked to the forum anyway. No need to get sarcastic.

Surely if they're r in the top 67 they're pretty much guaranteed a seeding giving the Joe Jogia suspension and O'Sullivans whole dummies out the pram 'I'm not playing rubbish.

Pretty sure Ronnie said he wouldn't play 'til UK. Which if true, but as you say it probably isn't, still makes 66 the actual 64 for a long time. Although I'd like to see a rule brought in by where players must play in 75% of tournaments during the season or be chucked from the tour. It gives them a bit of lee-way to pick and choose and secures top players for most events.
