Yes, if Jackson Page reaches Q-final, then Carrington goes down and one more place becomes vacant. If Hugill beats Robertson, then Carrington goes down and Gao Yang gets a 1-year list promotion. If both happen, then Tian Pengfei goes down along with Carrington. I assume that Carrington, Tian and Gao are given special dispensation to enter Q School if they find themself relegated. Unfortunately that means that Tian and Gao can't go home until Hugill loses to Robertson on Wednesday.

I have Ashley Hugill and Michael White as qualifiers for the Tour for reaching the Crucible.
Allan Taylor, David Lilley, Gao Yang and Michael Holt as qualifiers for the 1 year rankings. I think the Crucible qualification is above the 1 year rankings as technically they are certain of that first as they could still drop out of the Top 4 on 1 year rankings.
If Hugill makes the Top 64 then Carrington will drop off Tour. Tian is safe as mentioned previously as White is not included in 2 year rankings.

Very lucky for Michael Holt!

Sorry, Tian can be knocked out if Hugill and Page ,make enough points at The Crucible.

I remember that we had the same case back in 2019, when James Cahill got very close to beat Stephen Maguire (after beating O'Sullivan). The man who was waiting with agony on the 64th place was Mike Dunn,

This is not the case, because White is an amateur he does not receive an official ranking in the 2 year ratings. He has qualified as you say by reaching the Crucible. He would also have qualified as one of the top 4 players on the 1 year rankings. But he is not included in the 2 year rankings in any way.

Hugill and Page could knock Carrington out if they win the required games.

No, I didn't say that.

White qualifies through the 1-year list anyway. But if he had reached the last 8 of the World Championship, he would have entered the top 64 and would have kept his season points, to build on during the next season. Carrington would have dropped off the tour and Gao Yang would have got a fresh 2-year card. But all those never happened.

That was very close to happen back in 2019. Cahill had secured his return via the 1-year list, but if he had beaten Maguire, he would have entered the top 64 and would have pushed Dunn off the tour.

Sorry you were spot on. I assume the first method of qualification gains entry, but not for Crucible qualifiers, need to read better.

Would have been dangerous making the Tour a little more competitive.

Now 8 of the 128 are wildcards or non Equality qualifiers from the women's only competitions. They need to have a restriction on how many times you get to draw one of these or the qualifiers from lesser continents.

A shambles of an entry system.

There is a big question regarding World Woman Tour qualification there is no candidates to take Reanne Evans and Ng On Yee out so unless things get better and more competitive fast then Reanne, Ng On Yee, Mink and Rebecca Kenna got a spot for a very long time basically they can't drop off

That may work out well for Nutcharat Wongharuthai who, at her age, has plenty of scope to benefit from prolonged tour membership. Her Championship League performance showed promise particularly against Scott Donaldson, but also a certain naivete prominent in her last match against Rod Lawler. If she can sustain her commitment it is possible that she can reach the top 64 and beyond before the end of the decade. Ultimately isn't that what WST are hoping happens?

Or maybe it's all just for show.

I still find it remarkable that a 17 year old could finish 5th on the 1-year list of those outside the top 64, in the process earning more money in ranking events than the four wildcards and two women combined, and be jettisoned by WST.

Well, it is just for show really, as is the mixed-doubles event. It's about WST screaming: 'we stand for diversity!'. Let's hope the women aren't too humiliated, because they are being treated like guinea pigs in a sense. Rebecca Kenna admitted she can only practice for a couple of hours - no player (man or woman) can be competitive on that. Bai Yulu is a very promising Chinese girl, but hasn't been able to travel.

As for Gao Yang, he actually finished 3rd, but two amateurs were placed ahead of him on the 1-year list, 'playing without pressure', as Shaun Murphy would say. It's very debatable that such players were allowed a tour card. It's my view that if WPBSA are going to allow 15-year olds on tour, they should at least look after them when they drop off, especially if by only £500. Relegation can wreck a player's self-confidence.

But all of this shows the modern trend of talking up inclusivity to minority groups, whilst neglecting young people.
