Ronnie needs to win at least two frames for each one he concedes. Can he do it?

For me, it's Hawkins who has a mammoth task against Ronnie.

If Ronnie wins the first frame, he wins the match.

Looking at how extremely well Hawkins is playing, it's a mammoth task.

He's in top form but it still might not be good enough. A loss today would really hurt. A win however would open the door for title number 6 wide open.

He met Bingo in form last year, Hawk this year. In years gone he's had players who are in awe of his aura. But those days have gone for good and it won't matter who is no.1 or the GOAT soon enough, because players have sports psychos and coaches who teach them how to get the best out of themselves, win or lose. As Ronnie says, WS is a minefield now.

80s: Davis owned snooker
90s: Hendry owned snooker
00s: ROS/MJW?JH shared snooker
10s> It's a bloody lottery.

Well, not quite, but any one of dozen in form seem able to win this tournament and that doesn't include qualifiers like Kyren and Ding who pose a serious threat as well. Conclusion: Davis and Hendry had easy eras.

If Judd wins the title, it's free beer and burgers for everyone. Nowt wrong wiv dat!

A Ronnie loss today would be gutting. To win a world title you have to overcome at least one major obstacle throughout the tournament and this match feels like that for Ronnie.

If he can somehow overcome Hawkins today, I'd be very confident about him winning the title.
