They are saying that the fact that there are eight tables going on at once prohibits crowd noise / clapping, because the crowd are too worried about disrupting people on other tables.
Does it make the supposed second biggest event of the year look like there's no atmosphere?
Good point, probably they are right (for once).
But tomorrow no more Sports Hall, just the four tables at the main arena, so there should be more noise I think and make the atmosphere better.

Something to pay attention for.
A point of interest if nothing else.

I predicted Hull would beat Hawkins and it's really possible here :) I hope he doesn't choke.

I reckon Ants v Luca has decider written all over it.
3-3 now, Luca could be heading for 4-3 ahead.

Murphy yesterday, he was just sublime at times
Higgins not far behind, then I would put on same level Selby, Trump and Robbo.

I was too busy this evening due to work and didn't catch any second of the televised matches -which ended very early, anyway.
Happy to see Hull giving such a match against Hawkins, he needs one more frame to get through.
And Luca vs Ants is a tough battle, as expected.

Just another day at the office for Selby and Robertson. These youngsters are underwhelming.

If only Ebdon v Dale was televised, I'd be able to catch the last frame when I get up tomorrow morning.

Thats why i treated myself to most of the day off today,as i knew they,d win.
I knew Maguire would win too, although i did,nt expect him to whitewash Cope.

Hull got himself over the line, barring one snooker.
edit: it seems that Hawk took 5 points due to Hull's foul... 12-61 now with 51 remaining.

AC or LT? wrote:Which second round matches is everybody looking forward too?
Martin Gould vs Mark Allen could be alright.
Judd Tramp vs Liang Wenbo.
John Higgins vs Ali Carter. Two fairly big names.
Ben Woollaston vs Shaun Murphy. I think Murphy will spank him, the way he was playing. Still be good to see Roland's favourite in action.
Mark Selby vs Jamie Jones.
