Also in this section Former pros Michael Georgiou who got close via the EBSA Amateur cup play offs of getting a 2 year tour card losing 4-1 to Zak Surety, Shane Castle who played as a top up player in 8 main ranking events this season including the World Championship without much success but his claim to fame Live on BBC TV he pushed Mark Selby to 6-4 in the UK Championship in york having lead Selby 3-1 at the mid session interval. Sanderson Lam also in this section Sanderson played in 10 main ranking events as a top up player and managed to qualify for the venue stages in the World Open with a 5-1 win over former Asian Open Champion Dave Harold but had a wild card round and lost 5-3 to Chen Zifan. But the Best known face in this section is Former World no 6 and eurosport commentator Mike Hallett he played in Q School in 2011 trying to get back on to the Main tour for the first time since 2004/2005 after wins over Tony Knowles and Sean O'Sullivan both by 4-0 he lost in the Last 32 to Reanne Evans by 4-3

Spot 2

Martin O'Donnell and Daniel Wells are the players that will be attempting to carry on as Main tour players in this section Daniel Wells first match will be against Corey Deuel who has represented Team USA 7 Times in the Barry Hearn inspired Mosconi Cup the last time in 2010 when Europe won 11-8. In 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 seasons Ayouri had a 2 year tour card and entered 9 tournaments playing 2 matches and Winning 1 due to visa issues Apparently so hopefully if he gets back in that will be sorted. His second stint was between 2006 and 2008 he managed to do enough during 2006/2007 to stay on for the next year but fell off the tour in 2008 and would not return until 2011 where he reached his highest ranking of 49 and his end of season World Ranking was 50 BUT with a change to Money based Rankings he finds himself in 66th spot and in to Q School. Also in this section is Gareth Allen who in the 2013 Welsh Open he had a Last 64 Match as a top up player where he played John Higgins on BBC TV and he took a frame off John losing 4-1.

Hossein Vafaei Ayouri has withdrawn from Event 1, Visa issues I guess.

A shame for the young lad.

Still not withdrawn from Event 2 though.

I think (hope?) not visa issues again, but because he's entered in the World Under 21 which clashes with this as they had to move it as St Petersburg withdrew, so using the same venue that was used last week for the Asian Snooker Championship.

Re: Q School 2014

Hossein Vafaei Ayouri will not be competing in Q School apparently World Snooker has granted him his Pro status because of the farce regarding visa for the last 2 years but this visa issues are still on going so at the moment there's not much point giving him a tour spot lets hope that is sorted ASAP.

Re: Q School 2014

Playing Today is Adam Duffy been on the Pro tour since 2011. he Received the Paul Hunter Scholarship in 2008/2009 and was given the help to Turn Professional. He made a good start in his debut season and was Ranked in the top 64 at the start of this year however he suffered a disastrous season that saw him drop to 85th and therefore off the tour.

In his debut season he Beat Mark Selby 4-0 on his way to the last 16 of PTC 2 in 2011 and his best finish in a Main Ranking Event was Last 48 in the 2012 Welsh Open beating James Wattana and Jack Lisowski before losing 4-2 to Peter Ebdon and he also reached the last 48 of the 2013 Shanghai Masters when he almost Qualified for the final stages in shanghai but Narrowly lost 5-4 to Ali Carter.
