Yes there are only 2 events instead of 3 so they reduced the entry to £600

Hossein Vafaei Ayouri has entered Q School which is surprising considering how little he played during his 2 year tour card

Another entry that's only just appeared is Callum Downing, who is the EASB paid-for entry (having won their qualifying competition in January, beat Syd Wilson in the final)

Even without the players dropping off the Tour who are likely to enter this its a deep field, so there's going to be plenty of action to see who gets onto (or back onto) the Pro Tour.
Just to mention one (probably) incorrect name, unless a major coincidence the player World Snooker list as 'Yang Song' is the same player that was in APTC4 with the name the other way around - Sòng Yáng (Chinese characters 宋扬)

With more to add once more of the Pros dropping off are added!
Could be the lower entrance fee has played a part?
I'm guessing 'Yijun Feng' is another name the wrong way round. He's UK based I think, not sure whether British of Chinese origin or a UK-based Chinese player - anyone know?

Northern Ireland's Raymond Fry added to Q School, has been practicing with Mark Allen.
Chinese player Zhào Xīntóng has decided to try to get on Tour via the World Under 21 Championship instead, not sure whether he can make it to the second Q School or not if he fails in that, as I'm not sure when the 2nd Q School starts.

What would the format be, last 256 (maybe only about 12 games in this section though) matches and straight knockout I guess?
So players will have to win 7 (6 with bye) matches to get on the tour to get to semi final stage and a tour card.

Guess the problem with the high amount of entries is that there will be awful lot of byes in the last 256 stage (prob just called round 1 as there wont be 256 players). So the order of merit for top-up places may be a bit segued.

He's decided to go for the World Under 21 route.
Would love to know if he'd be able to play in that and also make Event 2 of Q School.
Perhaps there'll be an outbreak of logic and they'll deliberately start Event 2 after the day of the World Under 21 final ...

QSchool dates now been changed to
May 10th-21st, IBSF World U21 Championship 10th-18th. Unless players get knocked out early, they wont be able to make QSchool event 2.

interesting to note the name of Canadian pool maestro Alex Pagulayan is playing in Q School this year.
2 years ago he refused a nomination to take his place on the Tour and therefore Floyd Ziegler got his place
