How are the players seeded after the group stage?

Looking at the ranking list here it appears to be based on:

1) position in group
2) number of loses
3) frame difference average
4) frame for average
5) highest random number

That seems to work in most cases except for seeds:

#19-#20 - 1)-3) tied; #20 has a better frame for average (3.83) than #19 (3.66)
#23-#24 - 1)-4) tied; #24 has the higher random number (62039) than #23 (13242)
#27-#28 - 1)-2) tied; #28 has a higher frame difference average (+1.83) than #27 (+1.80)
#29-#30 - 1)-2) tied; #30 has a higher frame difference average (+1.60) than #29 (+1.40)
#32-#34 - 1) tied; #34 has lost less matches (1) than both #32 and #33 (both 2)
#35-#36 - 1)-2) tied; #36 has a higher frame difference average (+1.33) than #35 (+1.20)
#37-#39 - 1) tied; #38 and #39 have lost less matches (both 1) than #37 (2)

and from this point lower.... there's more discrepancies, such as players who finished 4th in their group ranked higher than those who finished 3rd (see seeds #53/54 and #55/56); players tied on criteria 1)-2) seems to be ranked randomly with 3) not taken into account (i.e. #43 has a better record than #37); etc...

Yes, I've wondered in the past how they work this. One thing seems to stay consistent, unbeaten players ranked above everyone else, in 'frame average' order. Thought I had an idea of this in that next I thought was Group winners with a loss, likewise in frame average order, then 2nd place players with 1 loss - only that doesn't work for #27-#28 as you point out. And in any case my logic blows out with Steve Mifsud in 34th, 2nd in group with 1 loss but behind Hill and Ploner, 2nd place players with 2 losses. Have to admit defeat on this! (Maybe Penalty has some idea?)

This is a bit difficult to explain about the seeding's I have seen this done before but it takes some explaining so I will try explain simply. . The winners of each group are seeded 1-18 runner-ups 19-36 3rds 37-54 and 4ths 55-72.
1- 18 take their place in the draw and are never moved. Then the number 2 in each group are put in but in in the opposite half of their group winner. The 3rds from each group are then put in same half as 2nd in their group but opposite quarter. The 4ths from each group are then put in same half as their group winner but opposite quarter.
That's why you see the seeds from 19 down all mixed up. They do the draw and then check where they are as to the explanation above then they have to change accordingly its a bit messy with 18 groups but works well with 16.

(Excellent explanation by the way!)

I should have mentioned that the highest seed's of the number 2s and 3s and 4s go in the highest ranking possible with that explanation. It is hard going to check takes awhile but as I say with 16 groups its easier. Its to stop people from same group playing each other in their 1st match in the knockouts :dizzy:

Ewa Pawińska v Daria Sirotina this is now in a deciding frame. Its going now for near to 4 hours. Do not want to be biased but I hope the young Russian Daria wins it,as I think she has the game to give Wendy Jans a fight. I am a bit surprised that this match is taking so long but that's ladies snooker sometimes, Ewa is the girlfriend of Englands Jeff CUudy so I'm sure he has been coaching her for this event.

Thanks guys for your feedback. Based on what we have said, I have managed to recreate the draw exactly.

Players are separated based on the following criteria:

1) Final Position in Group
2) Least Number of Losses
3) Highest Frame Difference Average
4) Highest Random Number

NOTE: Frame For Average is not used (why?!)

Group Winners are seeded #1-#18

2nd Place finishers are placed in the highest seeding position, in ranking order, in the opposite half of the corresponding group winner (i.e. if A1 is in the top half, A2 is in the bottom half)

3rd Place finishers are placed in the highest seeding position, in ranking order, in the opposite half of the corresponding group winner, and in the opposite quarter to the group runner-up (i.e. if A2 is in quarter 3, A3 is in quarter 4)

4th Place finishers are placed in the highest seeding position, in ranking order, into the quarter opposite to the group winner (i.e. if A1 is in quarter 1, A4 is in quarter 2)

Again, thanks for helping me... this would have driven me mad if I hadn't solved it :D

EDIT: Some minor changes to make things more clearer (to me anyways)
