Duane Jones also through to the final with a 3-1 win.

Hallworth therefore qualifies for the play-offs, Jones must win the final to get there.

Hallworth wins 3-2 according to World Snooker's twitter feed.

Looked a decent player, if a little unlucky when I saw him play MJW on Friday.

Anyone know who (or if anyone) will get a place in the finals of this now Oli Lines has qualified directly for the Pro Tour by being European Under 21 Champion?

(Ditched the notes I'd taken on the rankings, so really not sure!)

Pro Snooker Blog thinks it might be Michael Tomlinson who is next on the list

Gareth Allen is 2 matches away from the pro tour

Come on Gaz !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: EBSA Amateur Cup

Steven Hallworth and Mitchell Travis must be confident about their chances, neither of them have entered qschool. Unfortunately only one of them has the chance of reaching the pro tour!!

Re: EBSA Amateur Cup

Postby fridge46

Ian Glover 4-2 Gareth Allen
Sam Harvey 2-4 Jamie Rhys Clarke
Steven Hallworth 4-1 Martin Ball

Re: EBSA Amateur Cup

Postby Wildey

its a shame Gareth Allen failed to get on tour so its between Ian Glover and Jamie rhys Clark for a spot on the main tour

Steven Hallworth is waiting for the winner of Mitchell Travis and Zack Richardson. Mitchell Travis got pumped 10-1 in the World Championship by Martin Gould but hes had table time and should be favorite to get a main tour spot.

then its pick one player from 4

Michael Tomlinson v Zak Surety
Sydney Wilson v Michael Georgiou

Michael Georgiou has been on the main tour in 2008/2009 but he didnt win a match in 9 tournaments winning just 18 frames

Re: EBSA Amateur Cup

Mitchell Travis 4-1 Zack Richardson
Michael Tomlinson 1-4 Zak Surety
Sydney Wilson 1-4 Michael Georgiou

Finals (Sunday, 11am):

Ian Glover v Jamie Rhys Clarke
Steven Hallworth v Mitchell Travis
Zak Surety v Michael Georgiou

Good Luck to all concerned

Last year Patrick Einsle, Stuart Carrington and Jak Jones won a 2 year tour card this route

Einsle has won only 2 Matches out of 12 played this season and has apparently quit again not entered anything after the ET 8 in Gdynia early February

Jak Jones has won nothing out of 16 matches played but he did enter all the main ranking events and 5 ET Events and gave Ronnie a scare in ET7 loosing 4-2

Stuart Carrington has done the best out of the three winning 15 matches and beating the likes of Jack Lisowski, Rod Lawler, Ben Woollaston, Ken Doherty and Peter Ebdon and he is in the last 64 of the World Championship and playing Nigel Bond today for the right to play Ryan Day for a spot at the crucible.

Ian Glover Was on the Main professional tour in the 90s first turned pro in 1995 then disapered from the scene between 2001 and 2009 When he played the PIOS and then a regular in PTC Events and scored a high Profile 4-1 win against Mark Williams in 2010

Re: EBSA Amateur Cup

Ian Glover has regained a main tour spot with a 4-2 win over Jamie Rhys Clarke and also won a place on the tour is Zak Surety after a 4-1 win over former pro Michael Georgiou

Re: EBSA Amateur Cup

Hallworth 1-2 M Travis

Re: EBSA Amateur Cup

Postby Wildey

that's desperately close for Travis who beat Marco Fu and Kurt Maflin to reach the last 32 of the UK Championship this season where as Steven Hallworth has not shown anything to suggest hes a live prospect in the pro game.

Ian Glover, Zak Surety and Steven Hallworth have won a 2 year tour card for 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 snooker seasons.

Good luck to all 3

I feel with Hallworth a bit like I did last year when Alexander Ursenbacher got on Tour via Q School - great prospect but perhaps a little early to be on the Pro Tour. He's only 18, ranked 6th on the English Premier Junior Tour rankings including one event win this season. The win included victories over Ashley Carty, Brandon Sergeant and Oliver Lines.

Well it's better for them get the experience now.

Especially in Ursenbacher's case. No point being a big fish in a small pond for a couple more years. They'll never improve unless they keep learning from even better players.

Can be good, depends on the personality a bit - can result in a player getting disheartened unless they have a lot of personal maturity to go with their ability.

With Ursenbacher, last year I heard they were entering him for Q School just to get him experience of it, and of course he qualified for the Tour from it. Some signs recently that he's starting to get towards the standard needed, but still only 2 wins from 18 matches played.

yea i think if they haven't got high expectation and expect to fall off tour those 2 years can be valuable for the future.

the problem is when they think they are better than they are and get found out then they might feel deflated.
